I was on a hike in Jasper Alberta where I came across a peculiar tree off the trail. It seemed fallen and dead, but it had brilliant green branches growing upward to the sky. Even in the bleakness of today, there is hope in tomorrow.
After the devastating forest fires that hit across Northern Alberta and large portions of the Canadian landscape, the highways were lined with black trees. At the top of these trees were bright green leaves. Even at the end of the line and edge of death, nature found a way to bring its beautiful green to life.
I can only hope it will inspire such resilience in people today and future generations.
