Intentional Practice Makes Better

We all know that saying, Practice makes Perfect. However, a more useful and practical phrase is “Intentional practice makes better”

This is a practice I am integrating into my work habits as my skills progress. In order to create meaningful change or build habits, your actions must be intentional. I have to ask myself, why am I doing this? What is my goal? What steps do I have to take to get there?

I take the answers and create a system that helps me keep my focus on what I want to learn or bring into my life. This is true for health, skills, career, and relationships. I was approached to be a portrait artist for a local fundraiser. Portraiture of people has never been a confident skill of mine, so I knew I had to intentionally study the skill so I can present my best at the event. And so I am.

If you want to get your portrait done by my hand, get your tickets.

I look forward to an evening of great company and extraordinary talents.
